According to Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, stronger end-to-end logistics links will open up development opportunities and help Vietnamese goods reach more markets.

Logistics is no longer simply about warehousing or transport; it has become a measure of an economy’s competitiveness. As Vietnam integrates more deeply into global supply chains, the challenge is not merely to move goods faster, but to build a logistics system with the strength, depth and reach needed for Vietnamese products to expand sustainably.

Speaking at the announcement of a strategic partnership in Vietnam between Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) and Viettel Post Joint Stock Corporation, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan stressed that stronger links to form end-to-end supply chains are urgently needed to help Vietnamese goods expand in international markets. He said logistics is a key determinant of product competitiveness, supply chain efficiency and connectivity between domestic and global markets.

Building logistics chains with deep domestic coverage and broad international reach

Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan said that modern, coordinated and efficient logistics development is essential to reducing costs, improving service quality and facilitating the movement of goods. It thereby supports economic competitiveness and sustainable development.

To create a breakthrough for the industry, the Prime Minister issued the Strategy for Developing Vietnam’s Logistics Services for 2025–2035, with a vision to 2050. The strategy sets specific objectives for infrastructure modernisation, digital transformation and the greening of logistics.

“This is our guiding framework for building a highly competitive national logistics ecosystem that can adapt flexibly to changes in international markets,” the Deputy Minister emphasised.

According to the Deputy Minister, the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s approach is to develop logistics services beyond major trade gateways and ensure balanced development across sectors and localities. The Ministry prioritises helping businesses throughout the country, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, gain access to global logistics standards.

“Strengthening links to form end-to-end supply chains helps Vietnamese goods reach further, while developing regional logistics centres connects domestic and international markets effectively,” he affirmed.

He considers this an important direction for building a logistics system capable of supporting exports, cross-border e-commerce and Vietnamese businesses’ deeper participation in global value chains.
